Treating is not teaching. Balance is the key to succesful obedience training and many of us have experienced long term downfall of a purely treat-trained dog. Learn how and when to use treats to motivate and learn how to convert your "suggestions" to reliable "commands".
HankyBean's obedience training offers owners the opportunity to teach their dog the basic skills and manners required to function within the family pack and in society. Each course is specifically designed to meet your needs and the motivations and needs of your dog. Best of all the training is dog from the perspective of your dog; the way they see the words and interpret commands.
The goals and desired outcomes belong to you, the owner. We will help you understand the various methods used to train and then coach you through your dog's training plan; HankyBean's goal is not just to teach the dog how to behave, but rather teach the owners how to manage their own expectations with an arsenal of tools at their disposal. The old saying that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" could not be more incorrect. Dogs at all ages need mental and physical stimulation to remain alert, agile and healthy. Whether its basic obedience with Fundamentals - 1 or advanced level off lead training in Fundamentals - 2, these courses are designed with success for you and your dog in mind.
Group classes are intentionally limited to ensure that the appropriate care and attention can be given to each dog and handler.Utlizing a training philosophy and approach that dog understands the results not only come quicker, but last.
