When it comes to training and behaviour management I take my job very seriously. My opinion is that we as humans domesticated the dog, removing them from their natural environment and at a minimum we owe them respect by way of empathetic structure, consistency and predictability.

Owning, training, even walking a dog is a privilege. Dogs are not meant to be show pieces, disqualified for a couple of discoloured hairs, or a tail that is too long. Dogs give us unconditional love and loyalty and all they ask in return is that we give leadership, shelter, food and affection. I believe it is our responsibility not to try to bring them up to our level, but rather get down on all fours and build a relationship from their level - that is true empathy.

I have a long history of training dogs of all shapes and sizes, and all levels of mental acuity. Supported by a strong foundation of education in both business, psychology, behaviourism and obedience training, my goal in training and rehabilitating is to pull all my experience and education into a plan of action that works for everyone in the pack. This is all coupled with a driving motivation to constantly enhance the bond between owner and dog.

I don't train dogs to be robots, I train them so that they are able to demonstrate their full potential as a companion and stable member of the family. I am compelled to help as many dogs as I can and empower my clients with the tools to do the same for the betterment of all our packs.

After years of having to settle for substandard and unhealthy food and treats for my pack, I decided that a truly healthy, yet cost effective solution needed to be developed and made available to all dog owners who share my concerns about the health of their animals. One of my core passions with HankyBean is ensuring that the meals we make would be worthy of serving to my own family, if they aren't then I wouldn't give them to a dog.

Dogs and their health is a way of life for me. There is nothing I wouldn't do for them and I am just so fortunate to be able to help so many of them.
